Osteopathy for the expectant mother

Before pregnancy

Osteopathy can create optimal conditions for a harmonious and relaxed pregnancy. For example, old scar adhesions after operations or vertebral blockages, that make conception difficult, can be removed.

During pregnancy

During this time, the woman is particularly sensitive. The osteopath accompanies the emotional and physical changes of the expectant mother. Static changes, for example, can cause back pain, which can be treated. Also in case of water retention it is possible to improve the venolymphatic return flow by means of osteopathy. Furthermore, it is important to create good biomechanical conditions of the pelvis for the birth.

After pregnancy

Depending on the course of the pregnancy and birth, complaints such as headaches or back pain due to instability, fatigue and exhaustion to postpartum depression may occur, which possibly have structural causes and can be eliminated by osteopathy. The osteopath also treats the autonomic nervous system in the case of breastfeeding difficulties or during regression, in order to support hormonal regulation.
Baby & Children Osteopathy

Babies and children are not small adults

Babies, children and adolescents, with their still immature and growing tissues, place high demands on the skills of every osteopath. He is required to have an excellent knowledge of all the developmental processes of babies and children—from their formation in the mother's womb to the end of puberty—as well as hands that are especially trained in feeling.

Babies and children are not small adults. Many of their anatomical structures are still developing and are often very different from those of adults. Most metabolic processes are not yet fully developed and, in addition, children, unlike adults, rarely lie still during treatments and often cannot express their complaints.

Birth places an enormous strain on a baby's small, delicate body. If, in addition, suction cups, forceps or other forces are used, this can lead to deformation and compression of the spine and skull. After delivery, this often leads to abnormalities that at first glance are not directly associated with the pregnancy or birth. These abnormalities can be significantly reduced or eliminated by early osteopathic treatment, for a good start to a carefree life.

Birth puts an enormous strain on a baby's small, delicate body. If this is compounded by the use of a suction cup, a pair of forceps, or other applications of force, it can lead to deformation and compression of the spine and skull. After delivery, this often leads to abnormalities that at first glance are not directly associated with the pregnancy or birth. These abnormalities can be significantly reduced or eliminated by early osteopathic treatment, for a good start into a carefree life.
